understatement of the year.
It would be the BIGGEST understatement of the year to say "it's been a while." It's been more than a while, it's been MONTHS... one would say over a year. I'm sure you all thought that I fell into the Potomac, got lost in the Library of Congress, or stole one of the space shuttles from the Air and Space museum, never to return again. Well... HAVE NO FEAR! I'm back... for now. To say, "a lot has happened," would also be an understatement. So, for a quick recap.... Christmas, new job titles, summer, new friends, new adventures...
So, what have I been up to recently? during the past year...
Well...
I've been "playing tourist" becoming a local. It's been so fun, this city is FULL of fun things to do everyday! I love it! I fear I'm starting to enjoy it here just a little too much! I've learned some very valuable lessons as a "tourist" local which could be very valuable if you plan on coming to this great city anytime soon...
1. COME NOW... DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE SUMMER!
2. Sundays are the BEST day to do anything!
3. Bring sunglasses if you're going to the Hirshhorn.4. Don't be disappointed by the gorillas.5. Take a wine tour... preferably with me!
I've also been cooking... a lot! I guess I take after Coco (my grandmother), although I tend to stick to "normal" ingredients. She's taught me to stay away from orange zest in chili and bok choy... in anything. If you have any recipes send them my way!
Tyler moved here about a year ago... maybe that's why I haven't had time... we've been having such a wonderful time.... CAMPING. Yes, I am now officially a backpack wearing, fire-building, marshmallow roasting CAMPER. It's been so great exploring the Shenandoah Valley. It really is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been.
So... here is my pledge.... I'm really going to make an effort to revive THE BLOG. I can tell you... there will probably be a lot of food, fun, and fascinating stories. I'm not sure how often I will post, but I will post.... so follow along! (my goal...every other week.)
HOLD ME TO IT!
